THE CHALLENGE
An Advocus client sought government funding to further launch their product through the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program, part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). Regrettably, the program grants only cities and localities the authority to disburse funds to businesses. Therefore, we had to reevaluate our strategy while still assisting our client.
THE SOLUTION
Advocus assisted our client in identifying procurement activities at the local level that were receiving funding for SS4A, Complete Streets, and Vision Zero projects. This enabled them to showcase their product to cities that were actively seeking solutions to enhance road safety. We also supported our client in engaging with esteemed organizations such as the National League of Cities (NLC) and elected officials, providing them a platform to share their expertise and establish themselves as thought leaders.
THE RESULT
With Advocus’ efforts, we successfully identified over 300 local funding opportunities. Our client was chosen as a recipient of the NLC Capstone Challenge Series. This program offers funding and support to cities implementing innovative solutions for enhancing road safety. Our client is currently collaborating with two cities within the CapStone Program to implement their product.
